Christmas in Colorado
Ali and I enjoyed a white Christmas in the beautiful Colorado mountains this year. Best of all I managed to squeeze in a day of snowboarding…. yay for me!

Tis’ the season when small children shriek in horror as they open the mailbox. Our annual holiday card has been sent out and will soon bring chaos and bad taste to fireplace mantels across the country. Ali and I weren’t sure if we could top last year’s effort (view it here) but judging by the feedback that we have already received I think it was a success….
“You guys are working some kind of International-Male-Miami Vice-psuedo-figure-skating-couple like I’ve never seen LOL!!!”
“I almost peed my pants.”
I should mention that the inspiration for the “white” theme came from shooting three separate white events in 2008. One was a wedding and two were pre-wedding parties in Mexico.
P. Diddy would be proud!

I just wanted to let everyone know that I haven’t dropped off the face of the earth. My poor blog has been severely neglected since earlier this summer, but it certainty wasn’t for lack of content. In fact, 2008 has been the busiest year of my life. To top it off Ali and I recently moved to a fantastic new (actually old and rustic) loft in Emeryville. I can’t wait to share some photos of the new pad and the heaps of beautiful wedding photos that I’ve been sitting on.
“Ridiculously beautiful” would be an appropriate label for Lucille and Justin’s wedding. I seriously couldn’t have asked for anything more. It was held at Lucille’s parent’s home in Angwin, California (near St. Helena on the northern end of Napa Valley).
Lucille’s dress was by Rivini, hair/makeup was by Jim Avila, the delicious food was prepared by Elaine Bell Catering and the flowers were from Friday Flowers.

Here’s an interesting fact. I added up my destination wedding travels for the past two months and the total number of miles is greater than flying around the world 1.25 times. Approximately 32,000 miles according to my calculations.
We’re back from another fantastic destination wedding in Europe! It’s hard to believe that we were just in Italy two months ago.
All five days in Montpellier, France were jam packed with events (yes, a record five days of coverage!), which included a day at the beach, a trip to the mountains, a special wine tasting and dinner at one of the most acclaimed vineyards in France, a civil ceremony, the rehearsal dinner and finally (phew!) the wedding. Oh wait, we did a little “day after” belated engagement shoot too. On top of all that I’ll be shooting Tiffany and Simon’s stateside reception in Saratoga Springs, New York in January.
Now I just need to find time to edit the 10,000+ photos from the trip….

Maria and Kalon’s incredible wedding in Florence, Italy. The ceremony was held at CHIESA di SAN FILIPPO NERI and the reception was at Villa Poggio ai Merli.

The food, the food, the food! All I can say is the food! Maria and Kalon’s rehearsal dinner was held at Ciro&Sons in downtown Florence.

Maria and Kalon’s wedding celebration started off with a pool party at Villa Poggio ai Merli. The 15th century villa is set on an olive orchard in the small town of Scandicci (about 20 minutes outside of Florence).
