Emiliana and Alex – Berkeley, CA

Feast your eyes on Emiliana and Alex’s wonderful Latin American themed wedding.  I love shooting for foodies!  The reception venue, Doña Tomás, is actually a venerable gourmet Mexican restaurant in the East Bay.  If you haven’t been there I’d highly recommend it.

Cat and Chang – Bali, Indonesia

Here are a few highlights from Cat and Chang’s ridiculously beautiful destination wedding in Bali, Indonesia.  One of my personal favorites is the photo of the old man in a white turban.  As the official “rain stopper” he was responsible for making offerings to the gods in exchange for nice weather.  He was on his a-game for most of the day, but I think he lost focus around dinner time because we were hit with one of those crazy torrential downpours that you can only find in the tropics.  It didn’t stop the party though!

Venue: Khayangan Estate

Kristine and Oliver – Napa, California

I’ve been to some fantastic locations over the past few years but Auberge du Soleil was always on my wishlist. Kristine and Oliver’s wedding finally made it happen! I would move in there if they offered me a room (even the supply room will do). Words can’t do justice to the last photo so just enjoy the spectacle of granny getting freaky on the dance floor.

Ali and Cooper – Montpellier, France

Just when you thought the Tiffany and Simon photos were over, we have one more set to add. This time we’re going behind the scenes: Ali left her toe print on the official “guest toe print poster” and the kids thought it would be fun to harass me while I tried to take group photos (and juggled three cameras!).

Thanks, Tiffany and Simon. When you schedule the encore events we’ll be there!

Tiffany and Simon – Montpellier, France #4

Tiffany and Simon just might win the prize for being the biggest photo troopers. Even after all the partying and extreme lack of sleep, the two were eager to do one more shoot the day after their wedding. Either they were so exhausted they didn’t know I was taking photos of them or they were so used to being in front of my camera…whatever the cause, beautiful photos came out of the session. Nice job, guys.

Tiffany and Simon – Montpellier, France #3

The night before Tiffany and Simon’s wedding we were told that the French party hard at weddings. We smiled and nodded thinking that it was just an exaggeration. Little did we know the party would end at 6am and the groom’s parents would be among the last people standing (we only made it to 3am). Now that’s a party!

Destination wedding tip #2487987: What to do if your guests are from different countries and don’t speak the same language.
The groom’s aunt organized a mixer where guests were randomly assigned to groups and given the task of acting out lines from The Little Prince in French, German, Spanish, Italian, English, etc.. The activity was a great ice breaker and the guests put on an entertaining show for the bride/groom.

Final note (no pun intended), everyone at the wedding seemed to be musically or artistically inclined in some way (one bridesmaid is even a Rockette!). The best man wrote a song for the groom (which we loved!), the groom’s sisters sang a song for the couple and the groom and his family serenaded the bride. Bravo!
